Created from from a Janette Square pattern, 57 individually cut pieces of red cedar, blue pine, walnut, aspen, spalted hackberry, spalted tamarind, cherry, yellowheart, and poplar, each component was meticulously cut on a scroll saw and shaped by hand to create depth, dimension, and realistic contours. The rich colors come entirely from the natural woods themselves—no stains, paints, or dyes were used.

I use a clear satin varnish that offers UV protection for a protective coating that protects against fading; however it is the nature of wood to change color over time. It's best to keep any wood product out of direct sunlight to preserve the colors longer.
