This "Large Owl" is made from a pattern by Steve Shears.
It consists of 56 pieces cut from purpleheart, blue pine, poplar, lignum vitae, ebony, osage orange, bloodwood, walnut, yellowheart, canarywood, leopardwood, sycamore, & padauck.
Measures approx 9.5" x 15.5" and has a hanger on the back.

I use a clear satin varnish that offers UV protection for a protective coating that protects against fading; however it is the nature of wood to change color over time. It's best to keep any wood product out of direct sunlight to preserve the colors longer.
